If you are on a clean eating plan, detoxing or just would like a clean treat, try this amazing mouth watering wholesome sweet called Halwa...this recipe was created by me to deliver a gluten, dairy and cane sugar free dessert that your temple is going to love you for it.

Ingredients


  • 20 natural raw almonds
  • 2 tablespoons virgin coconut oil
  • 4 cups grated fresh carrot peeled
  • 1 cup home made almond milk
  • 1/4 cup of rice malt or maple syrup
  • good pinch of cardamon powder

Method:


Dry roast the almonds in a pan over low to medium heat until golden (do not burn the almonds).

Transfer to a food processor or a Nutribullet and blend until a meal is formed. Add the melted coconut oil in the same pan over low to medium heat.

Add grated carrots and cook, stirring constantly, for 10 minutes.

Stir the almond milk and the ground almonds into the carrot mixture.

Simmer for 10 minutes until thick and smooth.  Add the maple syrup and the cardamom and stir for 5 minutes or until a sticky paste forms.  Cool.

Place the cooled mixture in a lined tray place in the fridge overnight.

Next day invert it unto a chopping board and cut with a sharp knife into triangles or diamond shape.  Enjoy...
